Memorial burial at sea is a tradition. As far as anyone can tell this tradition has been in practice as long as people have gone to sea. There is a sense of inner peace and comfort that only the great blue ocean can bring us. There is no better place than the beautiful Monterey Bay sanctuary.
We provide a dignified scattering ashes burial at sea service with care and respect. We leave from local harbors into Monterey Bay on our ocean going 20-foot Sea Pro.
Our Captain is a professional with over 14 years experience and is a State of California licensed cremated remains disposer.The Captain or family member will read a blessing or poem as the ashes are scattered, followed by flowers (if requested).
A signed certificate of sea burial will be issued to the next of kin.
Unattended Ceremony
You can have the Captain scatter the ashes unassisted with reverence. We will provide you documentation of the burial at sea. The documentation certificate includes the time and coordinates of scattering.
Small attended voyages are an option. The Captain or a family member may perform the ceremony if you wish. You can have up to 4 in attendance (or 800lbs max) at a private on-board ceremony, or viewing from the shore is sometimes your best alternative. For those of you who want to invite a larger group, it is close enough where an unlimited number of family and friends may view the ceremony from shore.
Includes Captain scattering ashes unassisted, reading during burial, and certificate of burial at sea sent to you. $125.
For a group of 4 or less, Captain to provide ceremony reading and a certificate of burial at sea.
Mon-Thurs $275, Fri-Sat $425, Sun $325 Visa/MasterCard required for reservation.
We can provide a ceremony or we will read your personal reading if submitted in advance. We can receive ashes in person, by mail, or by other delivery. You are required to make your request for scattering the ashes in writing.
